  • Khyree Copeland is entering his third year as head coach of Rincon/University after a difficult 1-9 season, especially after the 2020 season affected by COVID-19.
  • Among Rincon/University’s five out-of-region games this fall are matchups with Phoenix Copper Canyon-area teams at home on September 9 and at the Alhambra on September 16. Copper Canyon is a 6A school in Glendale that went 2-8 last season. The Alhambra are a 5A team that finished 1-9.
  • The Rangers play their other three out-of-region games against the Southern Arizona competition – at Empire on September 2, at home against Sahuarita on September 23 and at Amphi on October 7.
  • Rincon/University’s 5A Sonoran competition includes three road games against Sunnyside (October 14), Cholla (October 21) and Marana (November 11). The two home games come in back-to-back weeks against Nogales (October 28) and Flowing Wells (November 4).
