CFL Global Combine planned for Japan

Japan XLeague, with the Japan American Football Association, announced that in cooperation with the Canadian Football League, he will hold a CFL Japan World Combine in Japan.

With the progress of CFL World initiative that included combine harvesters in several countries in 2020 before the pandemic put an end to everything, the CFL takes over the actual physical combines. In 2021, all athletes were invited to submit test videos and results and from there candidates were selected for the CFL World Draft.

the Japan Global Combine, JGCis scheduled for March 6, 2022 and will be held at Fujitsu, Japan. The best players will be invited to Toronto end of March for Combined CFL 2022 which will feature international prospects competing alongside their youngsters Canadian counterparts of U SPORTSthe NCAA and youth soccer. The league’s biggest scouting event will be followed by two separate drafts in the spring – one for global players and one for Canadians.

Candidates will undergo a series of tests including the standard 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle and three-cone drills as well as the vertical leap and bench press. Various position exercises will also be performed.

Notable Japanese players selected from previous combinations who made CFL rosters include linebacker Les Mauro (Winnipeg Blue Bombers) and running back Taku Lee (Montreal Alouettes).
