David Prutton’s Sky Bet Championship Predictions | Soccer News

Who is David Prutton for the Sky Bet Championship win on Good Friday? Find out here…

Luton v Nottingham Forest, 12.30pm – Live Sky Sports Football

Looks like Luton may have hit the pads at the wrong time. Three without a win now has given hope to teams hoping to carve out a place in the top six by the end of the season.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, are simply stealing. Five straight wins and the team that could trouble Bournemouth the most for second place. It could be close, but Forest’s momentum should see them pass him at Kenilworth Road.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (Sky Bet odds)

Birmingham vs Coventry, 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

Birmingham have only scored one goal in their last five games, which was a penalty, and that says a lot about their struggles this season.

Coventry picked up a fantastic win at Fulham last weekend to keep their slim play-off hopes alive. Until it’s mathematically over, all they can do is keep going. A victory here, and you never know.

Prutton predicts: 0-1 (Sky Bet odds)

Bournemouth v Middlesbrough, 3pm – Live Sky Sports Football

Now it’s a big, big game. Bournemouth have just suffered a small bump again in their last two games, and suddenly the menacing presence of Nottingham Forest looms on the horizon.

Middlesbrough itself also suffered two badly timed defeats. They are still well placed but need a lot of wins by the end of the season to break into the top six. I don’t see a win at Vitality, though. Null score.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (Sky Bet odds)

Hull vs Cardiff, 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

It was a big win for Hull at Middlesbrough last week, and should give them some momentum ahead of the final stages of the season. Even with nothing to play with, it’s always good to try to end things on a high note.

Cardiff bounced back well from their horror show against Swansea to beat Reading. Survival is now confirmed, and it’s time for Steve Morison and his team to look forward. They showed good character, and will do so again against Hull.

Prutton predicts: 0-1 (Sky Bet odds)

Peterborough vs Blackburn, 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

It’s probably a matter of when rather than if for Peterborough now in terms of relegation. That could happen by the end of the Easter weekend, although Grant McCann’s side have shown improvement in recent weeks.

Blackburn just need to win this to have any real hope of getting back into the top six. But I just can’t see it with the way they’ve been going lately. Draw for me.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (Sky Bet odds)

Sheffield United vs Reading, 3pm – Live on Sky Sports Football Red Button

Sheffield United will have been frustrated not to beat Bournemouth last weekend, but they still largely control their place in the play-offs.

Reading still has some way to go to ensure its survival, and a loss here might make them sweat a bit if other results go against them. I can’t, in truth, see them picking up anything from Bramall Lane.

Prutton predicts: 3-1 (Sky Bet odds)

Huddersfield vs QPR, 5.30pm – Live on Sky Sports Football

There have been a huge couple of wins of late for Huddersfield. They are close to being assured of a play-off place and still have half an eye on Bournemouth if the Cherries continue to slip.

QPR is in freefall. Their play-off dream is nearly over after five rebound losses. While it’s typical of the Championship for the team in no form to show up and claim a surprise win, I don’t see that happening here. Home win.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (Sky Bet odds)

Friday, April 15, 5:15 p.m.

Derby vs Fulham, 8 p.m. – Live on Sky Sports Football

Wayen Rooney remains frustrated with lack of clarity over Derby's future

All Derby can really do now is try to win each game as they go and see what happens, but it’s fair to say that survival is unlikely at this stage.

Fulham are almost there, but looked away from the ball against Coventry last weekend. Marco Silva will be determined that this won’t happen again, and that should be enough to get them over the line at Pride Park.

Prutton predicts: 1-3 (Sky Bet odds)

Swansea v Barnsley: 2-0

West Brom v Blackpool: 1-2
