Tirol Raiders sign veteran running back and coach Mike Gentili

the sarco Raiders caused a sensation by bringing the help of a European football veteran signing Mike Gentili.

The running back, wide receiver, defensive back and seasoned coach aim to wear many hats in his duties at Innsbruck.

The 33-year-old, 5’10”, 215 lbs native of Leominster, Mass.was a coach in Italy with Acei Crotone the last few months and is now looking to become a player-manager in Austria. Gentili will play for the Raiders Austrian Soccer League team while training running backs and special teams with the Raiders Tirol from European League of Soccer.

The veteran runner has had a busy career lately playing for the Osos Riva in Spain in 2021 where he racked up 826 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns. After the season, Gentili adapted for both the Lazio Ducks and helsinki Roosters later this year. The previous year, Gentili played for the Orebro Black knights of Sweden and the helsinki Roosters.

Last fall, Gentili played a key role in Italy’s historic gold medal streak at the European IFAF championships. The dual citizen rushed for two touchdowns in the decisive title game win over Sweden.

He spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons with the Lazio ducks in Div. of Italy. I, rushing for a total of 1,087 yards in 14 regular season games. It was important to help Italy team defeat Austria advance towards The European Final Four. He ended his academic career with a two-year stint at Bridgewater State University (NCAA Div. III) where he rushed for 912 yards. He also played at University of New Hampshire (NCAA Div. I) and Curry College (NCAA Div. III).

the sarco Raiders from Austrian Soccer League adding Gentili to a roster that includes quarterback Isaiah Weed and several experienced national talents. On the ELF side, Gentili’s knowledge of football should help the Raiders to be one of the most successful newcomers in the league.
