Wichita Force indoor football team removed from league

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Champions Indoor Football (CIF) removed Wichita Force from their league on Thursday, January 13.

The CIF announced the team’s withdrawal in a Facebook post where they said the Wichita Force was found to be in violation of several league requirements.

The message also states that the Force was given multiple opportunities to bring the organization into compliance, and they declined. Therefore, the board took the necessary action to withdraw the team.

According to the post, CIF is committed in the offseason to maintaining all team members to the highest standards equally. All members have agreed to begin enforcing professional standards league-wide.

“This is a positive step forward for the CIF. We are a professional football league, and our fans and players expect a professional product. We look forward to bringing a new owner to the Wichita market in the coming seasons that all fans can be proud of,” said CIF Commissioner JR Bond.

All players signed with the Wichita Force will be released from their contracts and may sign with any other team.

An updated schedule for CIF will be released in the coming days.

“We look forward to an exciting 2022 season and are thrilled to announce exciting developments within the CIF, including new franchises, as we build the CIF into the top professional indoor soccer league in America,” said said Bond.
